Yesterday a large amount of rain hit central Italy. As usual, Sant’Angelo in Colle is a very fortunate area. We only had 0.15 inches of rain around noon, followed by scirocco wind for the rest of the day. This wind dried the grape bunches and this means that we are able to harvest today. In fact, we are picking Sangiovese from the lower altitude vineyards (490/650 feet) that will be used for the Rosso di Montalcino.
