11.06.15 Post - Fabrizio 1955

It was a great experience to see the evolution of Rosso and Brunello through time. The two Rosso di Montalcino were a great surprise: 20 and 25 year-old Rossos still showing beautifully. One of the most special wines of the whole tasting was certainly the 1955 Brunello di Montalcino (pictured above) that proved to all of us how Brunello can age for an incredibly long time. 1955 is Fabrizio’s year of birth (in the photo Fabrizio is opening the bottle) so this was very special for him. It is always a great experience to taste such old vintages and it’s a fantastic opportunity to fully understand the potential of Sangiovese in Montalcino.
